Daisy
Foster is a Somerset based artist/illustrator who specialises in
watercolour. Her work is influenced by her roots in the West Country
and her travels in Europe and beyond. She has a particular affinity
with the beautiful landscape of Provence, in the south of France,
where she has spent many summers attempting to capture its intensity
of colour and heat. Her work shows a great sensitivity to light,
colour and space. She constantly strives to evoke a sense of atmosphere
in her work, and thinks it’s important that her paintings
emulate the temperature and emotion of the subject.
Daisy sells her work through various exhibitions and shops in Somerset,
and creates handmade greeting cards and gift tags for 'Needful Things',
a gift shop in the rural town of Castle Cary, Somerset.

Many
of her works are commission based; these vary from landscapes to,
during the last five years, capturing the familiarity and warmth
of people's houses, where she is acclaimed for being able sense
the feel of the home, without having actually seen it in reality.
Daisy's illustrative work is largely focussed on homes, gardens,
cooking and travel. She works in pen and watercolour and other mixed-media
formats to suit her subject. |
